To ensure you have "Sync Clover Products/Taxes turned ON:
Go to your Online Portal and ensure you have “Sync Clover Products/Taxes” toggled ON
If you signed up through Clover, this setting will automatically be toggled ON already.
To turn this setting ON:
- Click Settings > Company
- Go to Clover Sync Settings tab
- Toggle ON “Sync Clover Products/Taxes”
To ensure that your Taxes that were created in Clover are synced into Cojilio:
Go to your Online Portal
- Click Settings > Company
- Go to the Company Tax Settings tab
- Click "Refresh Tax Settings"

If your taxes were not created in Clover, you can follow the instructions included in Cojilio (online.cojilio.com > Settings > Company > Tax Settings):
To ensure that your Taxes that are synced into Cojilio are applied to your services:
Go to your Online Portal
- Click Services
- Select a service
- Go to the Taxes tab
- Ensure the tax is selected
- If it is not, select the tax to assign it to the service > Tax settings will automatically save
To ensure that your Taxes that are synced into Cojilio are applied to existing appointments:
Go to your Online Calendar
- Click on a clients appointment > Click Checkout
- The clients cart will open > Tax should display and be applied to their appointment
- You will have to repeat these steps for all appointments that were booked prior to syncing your Tax into Cojilio
Tax Exemptions:
If you want to be able to toggle OFF a tax for specific clients (i.e., if they are tax exempt), then you need to ensure that Tax you created in Clover has "Allow tax & fee to be removed from order" turned ON
You can do this on your Clover POS in the Device Settings > Taxes & Fees. Here is a video: How to Add Sales Tax to Clover POS at 00:58, you will see the "Allow tax & fee to be removed from an order" which you want to make sure is checked off
Can I sync a Service Fee into Cojilio?
Cojilio does integrate with Clover "additional fees" so you have the option to create a "service fee" (for example: 2% for card processing) in Clover and sync it into Cojilio.
Instructions on how to set this up:
- Create the processing fee as a service fee in Clover
- Once that has been created, toggle ON "Automatically Charge Extra Service Charge on all transactions" (Online Portal > Settings > Clover Sync Settings)
- When a customer goes online to book an appointment, they will then be charged that service fee you have set!
